Near the guesthouse you will find a lookout tower on a former ski jump (500 m) and a rope course loved by children (100 m). Plenty of marked trails lead you through the rolling landscape from Churáňov hill via Zlatá Studna to Horská Kvilda or Zhůří, and on to Čeňkova Pila and Antýgl or Kašperské Hory. They will also take you to the Kvilda visitor centre devoted to deer and the Eurasian lynx, to the owl aviaries in Borová Lada, to the Chalupská slať bog lake or to the mysteries of the Celtic Giant's Castle.
What we offer
An attractive mountain guesthouse with a wonderful view of the countryside and an outdoor pond, located in the heart of the Šumava mountains at an altitude of 1,060 m. Thanks to its location it is ideal for families with children, active hikers and seniors alike. You will also enjoy mushroom picking (with the option to dry mushrooms) and gathering forest berries.
Location
Zadov is a mountain settlement on the slopes of Churáňov hill (1,118 m) at an altitude of 880-1,070 m, above the valley of the Spůlka stream.
Winter holidays
Zadov has a ski resort for both downhill and cross-country skiing, with 7 easy and intermediate slopes, 4 drag lifts and 2 chairlifts. In season, groomed cross-country racing trails from two to fifteen kilometres long are maintained.
History
Zadov was once owned by the sovereigns, and its original scattered settlement was transformed by the glassmaking industry. The oldest building was the Pucher mill. From the 18th century, the Královák freeholders of the Stachy district established pastures here; the first written record dates from 1850.
Summer holidays
Around Zadov there are many marked hiking and cycling trails and a 7 km educational trail around Churáňov hill with beautiful views of the surroundings. On the south-west side of the hill lies the Malý Polec nature monument.
